Mr. Mind returns to face the original Captain Marvel again in “The astonishing Arch-Enemy”. Script by Denny O’Neil , art by C.C. Beck. “The Nicest Guy in the World” inspired a fan letter from artist C.C. Beck to writer Elliot Maggin. Rounding out the issue is a reprint of “Capt. Marvel fights Levram Tpac” from Captain Marvel Adventures No. 139, December 1952. Cover printed on page 2 of this issue. The cover has a spectacular coloring job by Jack Adler.

Synopsis

The return of Mr. Mind! Revenge on his mind, the tiny worm decides to decimate the country starting with the western half. Cap tracks down one of Mr. Mind's old compatriots from the Monster Society of Evil: Herkimer! Herkimer tells Cap that Mr. Mind is heading for St. Louis, MO. Cap thwarts Mr. Mind's attempt to blow up the Western half of the country, yet the worm escapes. Cap uses the St. Louis arch as a tuning fork to drive Mr. Mind from ground thus capturing him.

Synopsis

This story introduces Sunny Sparkle, the nicest boy in the world! Be it pheromones or just a pleasant personality, everybody, including gangsters, wants to do something nice for Sunny! With the help of Captain Marvel, Sunny spoils the gangster's plot and is awarded the key to the city.

Niatpac Levram (Captain Marvel spelled backwards) is a doppelganger of Captain Marvel. Niatpac Levram is the creation of Wizzo the Wizard. Using his magic Wizzo created Niatpac Levram from a mirror image of Cap.
