One of the first powers that Captain Marvel displayed was his great leaping ability. Cap's first use of it was to leap from one building to the next. This ability was one that he shared with his inspiration — Superman!
Since Cap has able to employ this power without injury — perhaps it was the power of Zeus that allowed him to survive or maybe the unstated invulnerability of Achilles.
