Who Went Bald First?
Sunday, September 14, 2008
Sure Captain Marvel was inspired by Superman, but Cap had a few firsts over the Man of Steel. For instance, Cap's primary villain, Dr. Sivana, was completely bald when he first appeared in the February 1940 issue of Whiz Comics #2 while Lex Luthor had a full head of red hair when he made his debut in Superman #4 (Spring 1940).

That said, Superman did have a partially bald super-villain first: The Ultra-Humanite but unlike Dr. Sivana — the Ultra-Humanite did have some hair. So, when the rubber meets the road or the fringe science meets the laboratory — Dr. Sivana beat Lex Luthor to razor.
